2007 in pictures

2007 was a busy year for Dan, after being selected as the Conservative's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for North Warwickshire and Bedworth in March 2007. 

Below is a selection of photographs chronicling a sample of Dan's campaigning and activities over the year.

And I hope everyone in North Warwickshire and Bedworth have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

 

April

Dan journeyed to the Magnetic North Pole with his Mum, Jan Meek. Shown here with Inuit children and a polar bear paw print.

   

   

 

June

Just six weeks after returning from the Arctic, Dan married Prashanthi in an English church wedding.

   

 

July

Dan Byles highlighted the lessons that need to be learned from flooding, as well as launching his campaign against Post Office cuts.

 

August

Dan Byles campaigned with Simon Rouse (Nuneaton) and spoke out over the funding deficit at George Eliot Hospital.

 

September

Dan Byles and local Conservatives took to the streets of Atherstone with their petition demanding a referendum over the EU Constitution.

Dan spoke about the proposals to merge Bedworth fire stations.

Dan also visited the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

 

October

A former Army Major, Dan Byles addressed the Conservative Party Conference on our overstretched Armed Forces.

Dan also highlighted Alistair Darling's double whammy for businesses in Bedworth.

Dan Byles also met with local Mancetter residents, sub-Postmaster Mustafa Khalifa, Shadow Minister Charles Hendry and Atherstone Chamber of Commerce chairman David Hill.

Dan Byles and local Conservatives took their petition demanding a referendum on the EU Constitution to the streets of Polesworth.

October was a busy month - the Post Office fight reached Downing Street - Dan Byles presented the petition to Number Ten, accompanied by the Atherstone Chamber of Commerce.

 

November

Local sixth-formers quizzed Dan and other politicians at Warwick School (shown here with Matthew Parris).

Dan participated in the Remembrance Day Parade (shown here sharing a joke with former Parachute Regiment RSM George Duffus).

Dan went on patrol with North Warwickshire Police.

Dan and Prashanthi travelled to India for their Indian wedding ceremony in Hyderabad. Part of the ceremony is showering each other with rice for luck.

   

 

December

Dan Byles spent the day underground with local miners at the Daw Mill Colliery.

To round off a busy year, Dan Byles received his second Guinness World Record from editor Craig Glenday.
